Back in Black.

Hey, once again. In between life, school, and really bad keyboards at the local public library.

Logan is back.

Sometimes I wonder about things like friendship. Then I draw a direct analogy to filmmaking. Naturally, I have to be thinking about filmmaking constantly...Anyways, the way I see it.

True Friends: Are there even after the premiere.
Fair-Weather Friends: Gone with the wind when the first hint of despair.

The Fall Retreat Video, is a staple of annoying usually dumb effects. I have made it cool again. It wasn't easy, but with enough work. Well, it worked. Now, I just need to burn off some copies some time and give to our local youth pastor. No worries, my friends. I have not left you. I am here and rarin' to take on the world...

Right after I eat some of those white chocolate pretzels...

Choi!
for now!

Merry Christmas Pirates...

The GP2X, the first open source handheld. After two months, the console has 148 releases. It can emulate many old systems, view photos, and play movies. Basically, THE handheld to get for any hackers/piraters/leechers/seeders on your Christmas list. I don't endorse pirating, but someone took a good idea and ran with it. You can even play Super Nintendo games on it!

Freakin' sweet...

Why Andrew Adamson should be crowned king... - Film Directing School Article -

Silly adults, Narnia is for kids.

At least that's the way it was written, filmed, and released. Breaking records Chronicles of Narnia soured to an outstanding 66 million dollar weekend...How did it pull that off you ask?

It created the same kind of movie that the man created before...a movie which kept the entire family's attention. I believe that the secret to this success is (in the most part) attributed to the man with the plan.

Andrew Adamson.

The director of Shrek and Shrek 2, he created two blockbuster movies out of an idea not used before in such perfection. Make kids and adults laugh...with different jokes...

There are soo many jokes which go unnoticed by kids because of their subconcious content. The ability to push forward a joke without explaining itself AND making it funny is this guy's speciality.

But even more important to Disney and Walden Media was the ability to connect with kids and adults who have read the beloved Chronicles of Narnia series. Finally, the point I'm trying to make here...

Pick your target Market and satisfy only that market...

Lucas got the kids and geeks.
Speilberg got the teenagers and families.
Adamson got the family.

It might seem simple, but I would highly recommend that you would study your market intensly before even making a film.

Rebel without a clue

In case anyone noticed, the snow was crazy as usual outside.

One sentence review of Rebel without a cause...

Screenplay Software: The Peanut Butter and the Jelly

One Image = Thousand words.

What the crap does a thousand words equal?

Don't ask, or for that matter don't worry. Your job is to craft powerful stories. Hopefully, you have the money otherwise, you might be wasting your time. Quick looks at the two different categories of Screenplay Software.

Screenplay Formatting Software...
Screenplay Foundation Building Software...

Let's be aware of the differences of the two:

Screenplay Formatting Software: Formats your screenplay to industry standards.
Screenplay Foundation Software: Helps strengthen your screenplay to industry standards.
